Couples Are Using March Madness Prenups To Stop Fighting

Is March Madness causing some disagreements in your relationship? BetUs is here to help with a “College Basketball Championship 2025 Prenuptial Agreement.” They’re offering the “Hoops & Harmony” contract to help keep couples from fighting over all those games.

The unofficial agreement has couples decide exactly how many of the 67 NCAA tournament games each of them is allowed to watch. Both parties have to agree “to coordinate viewing schedules to prioritize shared activities and responsibilities ensuring the marriage is not adversely affected,” the prenup stipulates.

Die-hard basketball fans know the annual tournament can be a stress test for even the strongest relationships, as they’re focused on their brackets, while their less enthusiastic partners feel like they’re being sidelined. And this prenup is a fun way to “safeguard your relationship” and keep the drama on the court and out of your love life.

According to a survey by BetUS of 1,000 couples across the country, 28% admit that sports can cause friction in their relationship.

  • A quarter of those polled say they’ve even thought about breaking up because of it.
  • Sports-watching habits are a relationship dealbreaker to 26%.
  • Overall, 20% of American women are frustrated about the time their partners spend watching sports and 17% feel neglected by their partner when they’re glued to the game.
  • Still, 24% of men say they’re not willing to budge on their sports-viewing time to make their girlfriends or wives happy.
  • But 72% of guys will compromise on the time they spend watching sports in order to save their relationship.
