The Best (& Worst) Places for Valentine’s Day

Valentine’s Day is coming up next week and if you’re still trying to figure out where to celebrate with your someone special, a new report has some ideas. WalletHub has just come out with their annual list of the Best and Worst Places for Valentine’s Day.

  • They compared 100 of the biggest cities in the country on 25 Valentine’s Day-related metrics in four categories: Budget, Activities, Gift Accessibility and Weather.
  • They rated cities on everything from the average cost of a three-course dinner for two to nightlife options and the number of florists per capita.
  • So, where is the best place to spend the holiday? San Francisco tops the list. It’s number two for activities, fifth for budget and sixth for gift accessibility, but it’s 93 for weather.
  • Fremont, California, 38th overall, is number one for budget, while Miami, Florida, 20th overall, is first for activities and gift availability, and Colorado Springs, 18th overall, is number one for weather.
  • At the bottom of the list is Detroit, making it the worst place for Valentine’s Day. The Michigan city is 100th for budget, 52nd for activities, 77th for gift accessibility and 10th for weather.
