In wake of Hurricane Helene, delivering supplies to western North Carolina has been challenging due to widespread road closures.
Surry County farmer Preston Cave and other drone operators have responded by using repurposed agricultural drones to transport essential supplies to otherwise inaccessible areas.
As to what’s motivating him to help, Cave says he hopes that if it were his family, someone would do the same for them.
