As grocery store prices have gone up, you may have tweaked your shopping habits to make sure you find the best deals, but you probably still have a go-to store. Most of us have a favorite and a new report reveals which one people across the country love most, but it may surprise you.
According to YouGov, America’s favorite grocery store is … 7-Eleven. That’s right, even though many of us see it as a road-trip pit stop or a place to grab coffee or a Slurpee when we fill up on gas, it’s number one in the supermarket survey of 1,220 people in the U.S. from YouGov.
- According to the poll, 7-Eleven scores a 97% of the “fame” scale, meaning people have heard of the chain. It also gets a 65% popularity rating, meaning people have a “positive opinion” of it. Only 8% of respondents reported “disliking” 7-Eleven, and 24% were neutral.
- Coming in a close second is a much more traditional grocery store, Trader Joe’s.
- It gets a 94% fame rating and a 64% popularity rating, and it only “disliked” by 5%.
- Whole Foods comes in third, with a 95% fame rating, a 64% popularity rating and an 8% “dislike” rating.
- The rankings come out a little differently when you look at specific generations. Millennials still pick 7-Eleven as their fave, but Gen X chooses Trader Joe’s, and Kroger is the top choice for baby boomers.
