Blake Shelton's New Song Gave A Record Label Exec A Heart Attack

It's the kind of reaction all performers hope they're art will cause...well, almost. Blake Shelton's new song, "Let Him in Anyway," has brought some emotional reactions from those hearing it for the first time. Frontline Recordings, North America President Jon Loba, head of Blake's label, tells the story that the first time Blake played it for Gwen Stefani, she ruined her makeup...and that's not the strongest reaction. Loba played the song for Chris Oglesby, Sr. VP of Creative at BMG, and "He starts to bawl his eyes out,” Loba says. “I bawl my eyes out. He says thank you and leaves." It turns out that, coincidence or not, Oglesby felt so overwhelmed...emotionally and physically...he drove himself to the hospital. Loba says, "He was...having a heart attack," adding that Oglesby later told him he had had a couple of little flutters in his heart earlier in the week but that it was truly the emotion of the song that pushed him over the edge. Loba says that Oglesby has thankfully made a full recovery.
