The Most Fatigued Cities In The U.S.

If you’re yawning your way through work and trying to make it past the afternoon slump, you’re in good company. Research shows that a third of American adults don’t get enough sleep. But it seems people in some parts of the country have it worse than others and a new study reveals where people are more tired.

  • CPAP.com has just come out with a list of the Most Fatigued Cities in the U.S.
  • Their team of researchers ranked the 100 most populated cities in the country on factors like noise pollution, light pollution, air quality and work-life balance.
  • To judge work-life balance, they looked at how much time people spend commuting in traffic, the percentage of remote workers and the work stress levels of each city.
  • So, where are people feeling most fatigued? New York City takes the top spot.
  • New Yorkers have the second worst noise and light pollution, one of the lowest percentages of remote workers, and spend the most hours in traffic at 101 per year.
  • Denver comes in second, thanks in part to being the worst city for work-related stress.
  • Out of the top 20 cities in the study, Boston has the best air quality, while Pittsburgh has the least noise and light pollution.
  • Miami has the lowest work-related stress and San Diego residents spend the least amount of time in traffic, at just 33 hours a year.
  • Of the 100 cities in the study, the least fatigued is Enterprise, Nevada, followed by Cape Coral, Florida.
