TikTok Mom Sparks Pay-It-Forward Movement With Viral Dress Video

When Illinois mom Kari Felkamp passed on a stunning green dress due to "mom guilt," TikTok users rallied behind her to make sure she got it. Felkamp, who was shopping for a dress to wear to her husband's work event, fell in love with the metallic halter gown but ended up going with a cheaper option. After her video about the decision went viral, the dress’s designer, Betsy & Adam, sent her the green dress along with two others for free.

By the time that Felkamp received the dress, she’d already received a significant amount of money from TikTok views and donations, so she decided to pay the kindness forward by helping others who needed dresses for special occasions. She launched a raffle to support women and girls in need, with one recipient, who entered to help buy her daughter a prom dress, splitting her winnings with two other people, showing how the kindness kept spreading.

Felkamp is now embracing her new title as the "Green Dress Girl" and continues to inspire others to prioritize self-care. Macy’s has also stepped in to give her a shopping spree with a personal stylist, helping her explore new styles after her recent weight loss and skin removal surgeries. She plans to wear the green dress at the end of March and hopes to keep hosting raffles to support others in need.
