The Super Bowl was yesterday, featuring The Kansas City Chiefs versus the Philadelphia Eagles. But there was something equally important happening…a whole bunch of commercials! There were a ton of celebrity cameos this year once again. Each commercial apparently costed $8-million for a 30-second spot. From Billy Crystal and Meg Ryan’s “When Harry Met Sally…” reunion, to Ben Affleck bringing back the Dunkings, brands pulled out all the stops.
We’ve rounded up some of the big commercials below.
- Kiss From A Lime - Becky G enjoys a crisp refreshing Mountain Dew Baja Blast and is transported to tropical scene…where Seal, with his face plastered onto a seal, the animal, sings “Kiss from a Lime," a twist on his track "Kiss from a Rose”
- Dunkings 2 - A new Dunkin’ ad that featured Ben Affleck, Casey Affleck, and Jeremy Strong. The two Affleck brothers are trying to get Strong to join them but he’s deep into his method acting…and is fully immersed in a big barrel of wet coffee grounds.
- A Century of Cravings - Matthew McConaughey stars in an ad for Uber Eats that reveals football was just invented to sell food to Americans. From calling a football a pigskin to revealing that the Buffalo Bills only became a team because of buffalo wings.
- When Sally Met Hellmann’s - Meg Ryan and Billy Crystal star in a Hellmann’s commercial spoofing their classic scene from the iconic 1989 romantic comedy “When Harry Met Sally…” while having lunch at Katz’s Delicatessen in New York City featuring a cameo from Sydney Sweeny
- Big Men On Cul-De-Sac - Post Malone and Shane Gillis team up to help save a lame cul-de-sac party by bringing over a bunch of Bud Light. They shoot beer out of leaf blower like a t-shirt cannon, have a meat smoker that cuts grass, and more. Peyton Manning even stops by in the end.
- The Call Of The Mustaches - Adam Brody is at a party that’s all out Pringles. He blows into the Pringles can like a horn, and mustaches around the world rise to the call! The fly off people’s faces, including Nick Offerman’s and James Harden’s, and grab Pringles from the store…only to fly into the window and drop the chips.
- Hey Meta, Who Eats Art? - Chris Pratt uses Meta’s AI-powered Ray-Ban smart glasses to find out more about a banana taped to a wall, only to find out its worth $6.2-million! He is then horrified to see Chris Hemsworth has eaten the banana.
- Get Your Stay Ridiculously Right - The Muppets star in a commercial for Booking.com. Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy, and more all try to find the perfect place to vacation.
- Whoa! - Eugene Levy takes a bit of Little Caesar’s Crazy Puffs and is so astonished his eyebrows fly off his face!
- Chazmo Finally Goes Home - Tim Robinson and Sam Richardson say goodbye to Chazmo, an alien that visited Earth who really liked Totino’s Pizza Rolls. But the door to Chazmo’s spaceship closes on him…and he dies. Tim and Sam don’t seem to broken up about it.
- First Delivery - The Budweiser commercial is giving what the people want...horses…Clydesdales to be exact. The ad shows a young Clydesdale who dreams of joining the big leagues to deliver beer to the masses
- The ULTRA Hustle - Catherine O’Hara and Willem Dafoe are pickleball hustlers who take on famous athletes including NFL legend Randy Moss, WNBA superstar Sabrina Ionescu and Olympic gold medalist Ryan Crouser all for a glass of “the ULTRA”
- The Intelligence Age - ChatGPT got its first commercial ever. OpenAI, the company behind ChatGPT, apparently spent $14-million for the 60-second spot. The commercial showed the new tech alongside foundational technology like the wheel and the lightbulb
- Slow Monday - Coors Light’s ad had a bunch of sloths moving slowly through their day because they had a case of the Mondays. The solution? Get some a case of Coors Light
- David & Dave: The Other David - David Beckham learns he has a twin…Dave Beckham, played by Matt Damon. Dave lives in America, eats buffalo wings, and…has a great kick. The two bond over both liking Stella Artois
- NFL Focus Groups - Doritos brings in players from The Kansas City Chiefs to go over ideas for a Super Bowl commercial. They like when they’re cheesy, when they have chips in them, and more. They also think Patrick Mahomes should be in them.
- Not So Fast, Not So Furious - “Fast & Furious” stars Michelle Rodriguez and Vin Diesel slow down their fast life after biting into a Häagen-Dazs bar
- We’re Here - Instacart had a bunch of food mascots run around in their ad, including the Pillsbury Doughboy releasing the hounds…which were dachshunds dressed up like hot dogs. Tony the Tiger, the Kool-Aid Man, Mr. Clean, and more also appear
- Unidentified Frying Object - Gordon Ramsey is called in to cook for aliens. He gets to use anything in the Area 51 test kitchen…but he already has a HexClad pan! Then he meets the alien…Pete Davidson. It turns out all famous people are actually aliens
