United Airlines Fantasy Flights Take Kids In Need To Visit “North Pole”

United Airlines is bringing holiday joy to children in need through its “Fantasy Flights” program, offering festive trips to the “North Pole.” The special flights take off from 13 cities worldwide, briefly circling the skies before landing back at a gate that’s been transformed into a magical Santa’s workshop.

One recent Fantasy Flight from Honolulu carried families of children battling cancer or grieving the loss of loved ones to a North Pole celebration. When the plane touched down, the kids and their families were welcomed into a hangar, decorated and staffed by more than 150 United workers and volunteers. The event featured personalized gifts, games, activities, and a feast, creating a “once-in-a-lifetime” magical experience for the attendees.

United customer service agent Lena Wong, who’s volunteered for the program for seven years, shares how impactful the experience is for the children, many of whom have never flown before. She describes the kids as “amazed” and “so strong.” The families expressed gratitude for the planning and effort that went into making the event so special.
