Val Kilmer Dead At 65-Years-Old

Val Kilmer has passed away at 65-years-old. The actor famously played Bruce Wayne in “Batman Forever,” Jim Morrison in “The Doors,” and more. He was also known for hit films including “Top Gun,” “Real Genius,” “Tombstone,” “Heat,” and “The Saint.”

The actor’s daughter Mercedes Kilmer shares that he passed on Tuesday due to pneumonia. Kilmer was diagnosed with throat cancer in 2014, but later recovered, according to Mercedes.

Kilmer's career started in the 1980s when he appeared in "Top Gun," and other films before a breakout performance as Jim Morrison in "The Doors" in 1991. His portrayal led to lead roles in the 90s in "Tombstone" and "Heat" before taking on the role of Batman in 1995's "Batman Forever." The actor had been battling throat cancer for several years, with his final film role coming in 2022 in the long anticipated "Top Gun" sequel "Top Gun: Maverick," where he reprised his role as Iceman.

Kilmer met his future wife, Joanne Whalley, on the set of Ron Howard’s 1988 fantasy film “Willow." The couple divorced in 1996. The actor is survived by his daughter Mercedes and his son Jack Kilmer.
